Rosalva Willow is a visual artist who explores concepts related to the expanding roles and opportunities in the lives of women from the early 20th century to contemporary times.
Rosalva Willow's project will joyfully remix and reimagine our shared imagery as Sacramentans. The work will emphasize the role women play in creating connections - across the community and to the geography of Sacramento throughout its history. Rosalva will explore trains, maps, and plants as metaphors for these connections, especially centered around the Del Rio Trail, its history, and its surrounding neighborhoods. As part of her process, Rosalva will invite the community to create sun prints that she will collage together as a metaphor for the creative and organic process of community building.
