Christina Preston: History of the Del Rio Trail

In the past few months, I have been captivated by the tales and experiences of the communities residing near the upcoming Del Rio Trail. I have delved into the ways in which the railway tracks have imprinted vivid memories on the locals, from the thrill of gathering sugar beets dropped by passing trains to the subsequent transformation of the tracks into a haven for leisurely walks, bike rides, and youthful exploits. The forthcoming trail revitalization will honor and carry on this cherished heritage. In addition, I have enjoyed drawing images to match the memories or the narratives!
