Shonna McDaniels: Rhythm Of The Train

I hired a local contractor to construct a 5ft wood train which was dropped off a few days ago. The contractor used recycled material to achieve a 3D effect. The Black round is a plastic bowl. I will prime and paint the entire train red, with black and gold trims. Within the solid-painted gold areas, I’m going to collage a variety of decorative gold paper. Next, I’m going to add some gold musical notes and attach some Vinyl Jazz albums. I ordered battery-operated lights for lighting and a Kalimba Thumb piano for sound. Additionally, on the back wall of the train, I will attach some small mini clipboards that will hand-on clips for folks to read about each artist. Notes will also include drafts of their musical song notes. I’m currently researching an individual who can assist me with creating an augmented-reality showcasing performance shows of Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, and Louis Armstrong.
I’m excited about my Rhythm of the Train project and can’t wait to complete it.
